The Rocket All Stars Racing Series final at Queensland's Willowbank Raceway is always massive event but the 2008 edition will go down as one of the best in the history of the sport. Great conditions, an outstanding track and nearly 40,000 fans combined with some of the best fields in Australian drag racing to make the 2008 Winternationals the perfect event to close the 2007/2008 Rocket Allstars Racing Series.

Rocket Industries has proudly supported the Australian Championships in the ten ANDRA categories making up Groups Two, Three and Four since 2005, and this season the payout to ANDRA's Sportsman racers totals over $50,000 with season bonuses paid to the top five drivers and riders in each category. Congratulations to the Rocket All Stars winners from the 2007/2008 season. This series was a huge success for all involved, especially the racers that came away on top. Below are the Champions and Runner-Up's in each class of the series. If you would like to be involved in the Rocket All Star Racing Series for 2008/2009. The Series will again be conducted over six rounds from Perth in the west to Mackay in the north, between September 2008 and June 2009.
 

COMPETITION -
With just 40 points covering Phil Otto, Steven Ham, Justin Walshe and Anthony Selva, the win could have gone to any of the four. It was however Northern Queenslander, Phil Otto who not only took out the Rocket All Stars Competition Championship but managed to also take the event win and end the season on the maximum 300 points. Brisbane driver Justin Walshe took the second slot in the Championship thanks to a semi final appearance. Steven Ham rounded out the podium with Ralph Perri and New South Welshman George Rehayem finishing in fourth and fifth respectively.

SUPER STOCK - In RARS Super Stock it was two of the brackets best known and best performing names at the top of the points standings heading into Castrol EDGE Winternationals. Coopers Plains local, Colin Lloyd topped the standings with Victorian Nino Cavallo just 20 points in arrears. West Australian Geoff Chaisty was also in the mix and his semi finals appearance saw Chaisty finish the season in third place. At the top, Nino Cavallo took the event win and the Rocket All Stars title ahead of Lloyd who was eliminated at semi final stage. Rob Dekert had a very consistent season and ended up taking fourth spot for the season followed by Graeme Simms whose camouflaged car managed to sneak into the top five.

COMPETITION BIKE - South Queenslanders Blair Pennington and Peter Everett have been waging their own war in a successful season of RARS Competition Bike for both racers. Despite their early season form, an outstanding performance by David Rundmann in the final round of the season has seen the Toowoomban racer take the Rocket All Stars Championship. Craig Hartman's finals appearance in the final round has secured the runner-up slot ahead of semi-finalist Damian Muscat. Everett and Pennington finished the 2007/2008 Championship and fourth and fifth respectively.

SUPERCHARGED OUTLAWS - Warrick local, Chris Loy headed the points in RARS Supercharged Outlaws heading into the Castrol EDGE Winternationals but it was one the country's most consistent Supercharged Outlaws competitors, John Ward who took out the event and the RASR title. Loy's early season form ensured his Runner-up position in the Championship ahead of Rockhampton's Nathan Peirano. South Queenslanders Tom Coonan and Castrol EDGE Winternationals finalist, Bill Fletcher ended the season in fourth and fifth slot.

MODIFIED - Queensland driver Mark Eadie has been in amazing form in RARS Modified and a solid Winternationals result secured Eadie the title of Australian Champion. Alan Craig has used his T Bucket to good effect this season and another semi final appearance at the Winternationals has helped him secure the Runner-Up position in the Rocket points. The man they call 'The Machine' Graeme Frawley took the Winternationals win and booked himself into third place for the overall Championship. Two of Modified's female racers in Jennifer Petrie and Jordan Radford managed top five positions in the Championship standings.

SUPER SEDAN - Not content with last year's Championship, Greg Fowler has now gone back-to-back with the 2007/2008 Championship in RARS Super Sedan. The Newcastle based team had a fantastic season with Steven managing Runner-Up in the Australian Championship thanks to a semi final appearance at the Winternationals. Sydney driver, Peter Hatzikalimnios finished the season in third place with one of the nice guys in the paddock Paul Doeblien in fourth thanks to his Winternationals Finals appearance. Sydney based Jason Haebich also did well enough across the season to achieve a Rocket All Stars Top Five.

MODIFIED BIKE - West Australian Adam Ewing made the long trip to Ipswich for the Castrol EDGE Winternationals and was rewarded with a semi final result and the Australian Championship in RARS Modified Bike. Darren Shepherd's 160 points total was enough to secure second position in the overall standings aboard his V-Rod ahead of Kevin Williamson. Peter Bartlett ended this year's series in fourth place with Chris Wacker besting the rest of the Wacker family to take fifth position.

SUPER STREET - Perhaps one of the hardest Australian Championships to win is RARS Super Street and two of the best proponents of the class, Tony Wallace and Gavin List have battled throughout the season with Wallace managing to take the Championship thanks to a better performance at the Winternationals. New South Welshman, Joe Zammit has secured third position in the points total with Terri Sander and former Junior Dragster driver, Guy Henry rounding out the Top Five.

JUNIOR DRAGSTER - The competition in RARS Junior Dragster has never been stronger and Brisbane's Loughlin Boyde has turned his experience into success by securing the 2007/2008 Australian Championship. Kristie Allan has had a fantastic season and has been rewarded with second place in the series followed closely by Brooke Chin. Rebekka List finished in the fourth and Blaze Hansen a deserving fifth position.

SUPER GAS - An excited and relieved Troy O'Hare took the Castrol EDGE Winternationals ANDRA Gold Christmas Tree but the winner of the RARS Super Gas Australian Championship went to O'Hare's Semi Final opponent, Sydney's Joe Catanzariti.  Catanzariti beat out fellow New South Welshman Darryl Stephen thanks to his superior Winternationals performance. O'Hare finished ahead of Winternationals finalist Rick Dudek with South Queenslander, Todd Jones finishing in fifth despite not being able to compete in the most recent rounds.
